K M ASAD
K M Asad is a documentary photographer and photojournalist. He was born in 1983 in the Mughal part of Dhaka city and spent his early life in the vivid alleys of the Bangladeshi capital’s old part.
A Pathshala graduate, Asad intensely covered Rohingya refugee crises, climate change, Rana Plaza building collapse disaster, and all the major cyclones since Cyclone Sidr in 2007. He also covered the Nepal 2015 earthquake.
His detailed coverage of the Rohingya Muslims' woes was published in all major international media outlets.
The award-winning journalist has won several prestigious awards for his hard work in the field including the World Press Photo Award, UNICEF Picture Of the Year, the New York Press Photographers Association (NPPA) Award, and the Lucie Award (IPA) and many more.
