Faisal Mahmud is a Dhaka-based journalist covering Bangladesh for several international news outlets including Al Jazeera, TRT World Asia Times, Vice News, Voice of America and the Wire.

 

A trained engineer, he specialises in writing about technology, but his passion lies in covering social and political affairs as a newsman. Faisal has extensively covered the Rohingya crisis in Bangladesh's southeast and other major political events.

Faisal received a number of fellowships including Jefferson Fellowship, Adenauer Fellowship and Thomson Reuters Foundation fellowship. He is also working in Fintech Magazine as its executive editor.
