TASNEEM KHALIL
Tasneem Khalil is an award-winning Swedish-Bangladeshi investigative journalist currently based in Malmo, Sweden. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Netra News, a Sweden-based investigative and public interest journalism platform mainly focused on Bangladesh.
He previously worked for The Daily Star, CNN, and Human Rights Watch (HRW) before he was abducted and persecuted by the country's military intelligence agency in 2007.
Later he was forced to leave the country and was exiled to Sweden, from where he published and edited the Independent World Report. Tasneem also published a book named 'Jallad: Death Squads and State Terror in South Asia'.
His rigorous and critical investigations of different corruptions and wrongdoings of the Sheikh Hasina regime through Netra News repeatedly brought him under the limelight with the government slapping embargoes and bans on his publications in the country.
Among many of his works, Tasneem led the investigation on 'Aynaghar', the news on horrific disappearance cells Hasina government abused to unlawfully detain dissents.
