Qadaruddin Shishir is mainly known as the pioneer of Fact-check journalism in Bangladesh.

He has now opened his own investigative news outlet called The Dissent that is based in Bangladesh.

Earlier, he worked for the AFP Factcheck platform as its Bengali language editor based at the agency's Dhaka bureau. Previously, he worked for BOOM Bangladesh.

Shishir also co-founded BD Factcheck, the first fake news debunking online portal in Bangladesh. Before starting a full-time fact-checker's career, he regularly contributed to The Daily Star, Scroll. In, The Wire and The New Age.

He authored “Fact Checking and Verification Handbook” in Bengali in 2021.
