Maruf Hasan is a Dhaka-based multi-platform journalist who reports independently for both Reuters TV and Agence France-Presse. He thrived as a hardworking Mobile Journalist (MoJo) during his early career days with the local tabloid daily Manabzamin.

He earned his respect of the community for his audacious contribution to the two top wire news agencies during the July 2024 student uprising in Bangladesh was commended at home and abroad.  He gained recognition for his frontline reporting for delivering real-time coverage.

Maruf currently also serves as an investigative journalist at The Dissent, a national investigative news outlet. His reporting specialties encompass politics, human rights, the environment, climate change, child labor, and the garment sector.

 

Still a Law student at Stamford University, the promising newsman has already ended up in this thankless job.
